Principal’s Message

Wahiawa Middle School is committed to providing the best possible environment for your child academically and socially.  Our mission is to help every student reach beyond his or her potential regardless of any circumstance or condition of life.   Our goal is to prepare our students for the 21st Century with the knowledge and skills needed.  Students will begin to develop skills needed to be college and career ready as they transition to Leilehua High School.  Literacy skills are reinforced in all content areas so our students communicate effectively orally and in written form.  We are committed to continuously improve our instructional strategies and content to insure we are providing a rigorous educational environment in every class.  Students are guided to see the connections and relevance in all content areas.  Teachers and staff strive to develop supportive relationships with our students to insure they are thriving in our school. 

Middle schools are the best places for students to begin to explore new interests and develop their areas of strengths.  Our students worked on developmental skills in the elementary schools.  Now they begin to apply these skills and explore new interests.  The choices broaden as they move up the educational ladder.  Along with this comes more responsibility and opportunities for self direction.  Not all of our students will embrace this level with ease.  Supports will be provided along the way.  Many will exceed our expectations and flourish beyond their peers.  We will provide opportunities for the students to challenge themselves.
