The Student Instructional Year starts on August 2, 2010 and ends on May 26, 2011.
The Teacher Work Year starts on July 27, 2010 and ends on May 27, 2011.

To maximize instructional time, the Department since 1991 has defined the earliest date for commencement exercises as “the first weekend preceding the last day of school for students.”
Therefore, commencement exercises for the Class of 2011 may be scheduled no sooner than Friday, May 20, 2011.
